David C. Johnson's Obituary
David Carleton Johnson, age 87, passed away in Fremont, MI, on Saturday, February 1, 2025. David was born in Muskegon, MI, on July 23, 1937, to Egnar and Constance (Lindquist) Johnson. He graduated from Muskegon High School and spent his life in the Muskegon area. David owned and operated multiple businesses throughout his life, including Muskegon Appliance, Carlson’s Coin-O-Matic Laundromat, and Johnson Appliance Parts, retiring in 2021. David was very mechanically inclined and loved to know how machines worked. He had an appreciation for muscle cars and enjoyed going to car shows and watching racing, especially the Indy 500. In his youth he enjoyed hunting and fishing, but more recently he enjoyed trips to the track or casino with his wife, Rose Marie, who preceded him in death in 2018. David loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.
David will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Jennifer (Jason) Bevans; four grandchildren: Isaac, Hannah, Elizabeth, and Michael; and brother, Allan (Mitzi) Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Egnar and Constance Johnson; sister, Susan Johnson; and wife, Rose Marie Johnson.
