David J. Jones' Obituary
Mr. David J. Jones, 71, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023, in Muskegon. He was born November 22, 1951, to Orvile Jones and Barbara (Johnson) Schierlinger in Muskegon and was a lifelong resident. A wood worker and CNC Machinist, he worked for companies such as Standard Lumber, Unicor, and most recently in retirement, for Avis Car Rental. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time at the family cabin in the Manistee National Forest, and loving on his cherished dog Reid.
Survivors include his mother Barb, two sons: Brandon (Kirsti) Jones, Paul (Kathryn Cook) Jones; his significant other Margie Burmeister; his sister Melissa (Bob) Harrell; his nephew Henry (Heidi) Harrell; his aunt Barb Johnson; and cousins Laurie Allyn, Lynne Tsuda, and Carol van Ahlers.
He was preceded in death by his father Orvile; his uncle Butch Johnson; and his nephew Hunter Harrell.
A family gathering will take place at a later date. Contributions in memory of Mr. Jones may be made to Pound Buddies Animal Shelter and Adoption Center in Muskegon, MI. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442.
