David Alan Markowski's Obituary
Mr. David Alan Markowski, age 61, passed away at home on Friday, July 28, 2023. He was born in Muskegon, MI on September 15, 1961 to Ben and Cecelia (Cogswell) Markowski. David was employed as a welder with the Boilermakers Union and then with the Pipefitters Union, Local 174 prior to his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, camping, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and cooking for his friends. David was very generous, had a kind soul, and was loved by everyone who knew him. He had many friends everywhere he went. David had a love for music and you could always find him at the jukebox when he was out. He was a member of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians. David will be remembered by his friends and family as a fun-loving, outgoing, social person. He is survived by two daughters, Shiloe (Omar Bartlett) Swears-Bartlett and Ashly (Tyler) Kelley; three grandchildren, Aiyana Bartlett and Nora and Wells Kelley; brothers, Gary Markowski and Terry Markowski; sisters, Linda Morton and Judy Dodge; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben Markowski and Cecelia Coyle and stepfather, Jim Coyle; and brother, Michael Markowski Sr. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held.
