Mr. David T. Mudgett's Obituary
David, 77 years old, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 14, 2013, in Traverse City, MI, having moved there recently. Born in Pontiac, MI on August 12, 1935, the son of C.T. and Margaret (Mercer) Mudgett. He and his family relocated to Muskegon soon after. David served in the Army National Guard of Michigan for 4 years before being honorably discharged in 1964. Following graduation from M.S.U., David worked in Muskegon as an engineer, first at Anaconda and later at Sealed Power. After retirement, he served Calvin Christian Reformed Church as custodian. On May 28, 1960, he married Janice Caswell, who survives him. They were blessed with one daughter, Pam (Al) Lezon, grandsons: Andy (Liz), Tony, Seth, Sean, and great-grandson, Luke Lezon; son, Rev. Curt (Laurie) Mudgett, grandsons: Evan, D.J., and Grant Mudgett; son, Dr. Paul (Linda) Mudgett, grandchildren: Jesse, Jason, Melissa, Ruth Mudgett; and son, Phil (Laura) Mudgett. Also surviving are his sister, Virginia (Gil) Vanderberg of Grand Haven; sisters-in-law, Susan Caswell of Florida and Karen Mudgett of Traverse City. David was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dr. Jim Mudgett of Traverse City. Many friends will remember David as an avid sailor and outdoorsman. He will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery in Muskegon. A Memorial Service for David will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Faith Reformed Church, 1139 E. Front St., Traverse City, MI 49686. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Memorial Gifts may be made to Faith Reformed Church Youth Ministry or the charity of your choice.
