David Owen Nelson's Obituary
Mr. David Owen Nelson, age 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 in Muskegon, Michigan. He was born in Muskegon on April 6, 1942 to Owen and Ruby (Akom) Nelson. David was a proud member of the Muskegon High Big Reds and attended Central Michigan University. He was also a member of the CMU and Muskegon Area Sports Hall of Fame and played several seasons with the Muskegon Panthers and Grand Rapids Tackers. Initially a schoolteacher (Holton and North Muskegon) and golf professional (Lincoln Golf Club), Dave worked in Industrial Sales for most of his career prior to his retirement. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Lynn Nelson (Merbs), in 2006. He is survived by his two sons and their families, Nick and Jessica Nelson and their children, Annika, Alex, Anders, and Ayla (Folsom, CA) and Brandon and Heather Nelson and their children, Hayden and Jazzy (Bellingham, WA).
