David W. Pierce's Obituary
David W. Pierce, age 67, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020. He was born April 3, 1953 in Ionia, MI to Donald “Danny” and Heather (Renwick) Pierce. David was a proud graduate of Michigan State, where he received his degree in Criminal Justice. He worked for the State of Michigan Department of Corrections as a probation and parole officer for over 30 years prior to his retirement. On July 29, 1989, he married the former Blyth McPhall on Mackinac Island. David was an avid bird hunter and fisherman and enjoyed these activities along with his son, Evan. He also loved spending time at the family cottage on Long Lake. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and family was very important to him. SURVIVORS include his wife of 31 years, Blyth; 2 children: Erin (Alex) Cochrane and Evan (Shawna) Pierce; 6 grandchildren: Maleah Pierce, Madison Pierce, James Cochrane, Leighton Pierce, Ellia Cochrane, and Lennon Pierce; his mother, Heather Pierce; brother, Craig (Janelle) Pierce; 2 sisters: Kathleen (Ted) Geldhof and Colleen (Bruce) Pierce; several nieces and nephews; and his special hunting dog, Emma. He was preceded in death by his father, Danny Pierce. According to David’s wishes, there will be no services. MEMORIALS to Ducks Unlimited or Pheasants Forever will be appreciated.
