All the memories with my Uncle Dave are good ones. I was so lucky to have him and my aunt Mary in my life they way they were. Growing up they never missed singing a silly happy birthday song, saying I looked like a monkey and smelt like one too. Many summers were spent swimming in their pond, picking blue berries, and taking the dogs for a long walk around the loop. Dave had the best laugh, smile, and warmth to his stories that everyone loved to hear around the dinner table. I’m so thankful for the Sunday dinners I attended at their house growing up. He and my aunt Mary made me this wooden toy chest that was painted and stained by hand, to this day that toy chest lives in my daughter’s room. I see it daily and get warm reminders of them from when I was little. I count my blessings for the moments we shared together. Even though the last few years we didn’t get to see each other like we used to, I’ll never forget how amazing Dave was to his core.
