Dear Dottie and the extended Dave Seibold Family, please accept my apologies for this belated communication expressing our love, thoughts, and prayers from the entire Deetjen Family. May Dave and Dottie’s children and grandchildren know that Doc Seibold is a treasure and will always be one of Grand Haven’s finest Leaders who gave back much more than he ever received! As 30 year old parents when we arrived in Grand Haven from Boston , Madeline and I would often talk about how impressed we were with the Captains of industry, medicine, and service that led this jewel port city on the western banks of Lake Michigan.
My blessed career as a city manager allowed me to work with leaders of communities in the Northeast, South, and Midwest. I would tell students and peers during national speaking engagements that the difference in the vibrancy and advancement of communities was clearly made by the impact of the likes of Dave and his band of selfless leaders. Hats off as well to Dottie who Madeline and I equally were awed by! We are saddened by Dave’s passing but our eyes and hearts so sparkle with the warm memories and thoughts of this very special man! May fair winds and calm seas deposit grains of glorious Lake Michigan grains of sand on the shores of their West Michigan home and the sun sparkle upon their home. Love and Blessing, the Deetjen Family
Our sincerest condolences to the Seibold family. Our fondest memory of Dave was watching him rumble down the road in his Model A. From Beverly Cooper and David.
Our sincerest sympathies to the Seibold family. To the man who taught most of the tri-cities how to swim, including me. You will be missed. May he rest in peace. Bob and Teresa Baker
My sincere sympathy Dottie to you and your family. I am so glad I met you at the eye drs last week Dottie, you are a lovely lady and I wish we could have talked longer. I felt like I knew you because my husband Clare admired Dave and spoke of him often, he was pleased that Dave came over to our house to see his duck decoys. He got out the book you and Dave wrote with your autographs inside. I am so glad you have a wonderful family to be with you now. Take care. Mary & Clare Stephens
Two men from Jackson came together to present and preserve GH history. He was truly a Pillar of the Community and it was an honor to know him and call him my friend. You will be missed.
