David Bruce Selby's Obituary
David Bruce Selby, age 65, passed away Monday, May 19, 2025 at The Poppen Residence of Harbor Hospice. He was born May 4, 1960 in Muskegon to Ernest B. and Irene J. (Laning) Selby and lived his entire life in the area. On October 12, 1979, he married Karen M. Burkall in Muskegon. David worked 30 years as an assembler for Ermanco Conveyer Systems and retired in 2018. He was a member of the Fruitport Eagles and the Mona Lake Boat Club. He enjoyed cars, motorcycles, woodworking, welding, scuba diving, hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. David had a reputation for being a social butterfly and goofball who loved to joke around with his family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife, Karen “Kari” Selby; daughter, Delicia (Andy) Eklund; son, Nathan (Abby) Selby; his grandchildren, Alan Eklund, Rowyn Eklund, Jayden Selby, Tucker Selby, Isaac Selby; his brothers and sisters, Norma (Thomas) Snider, Frank (Barb) Selby, Robert Selby, Ronald Selby, Donald (Jeannie) Selby, JoAnn (Richard) Hagye, Linda (Charlie) Johnson; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, Dennis Selby, and sister-in-law, Joy Selby. A Celebration of Life for David will be 4-8 PM Friday, June 6, 2025 at Fruitport Eagles (3354 S. Dangl Road, Muskegon 49444).
