David Earl Sheehy's Obituary
Mr. David Earl Sheehy, age 65, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018 in Muskegon after a three year battle with cancer. He was born on October 1, 1952 to Richard and Betty (DeMoor) Sheehy. David was a veteran of the United States Army. He graduated from Whitehall High School and Grand Valley State University with a degree in Industrial and Safety Engineering. David was employed by Howmet and General Dynamics prior to retirement. After retirement, he worked for AM General in Livonia, and served as the Laketon Township Zoning Administrator. David was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Norton Shores and Norwalk Lutheran Church in Manistee during the summer. He was also a member of the Northside Lions. David had a lifelong passion for woodworking, and in his “spare” time, received his contractor license and started DDR Construction. On August 24, 1979, David married the former Tamara Guerne Kemperman and she survives him along with sons, Tony (Rochelle) Kemperman and David John (Tamara) Sheehy; daughter-in-law, Kari Young; four grandchildren; his Scottie, Oliver Frederick; brother, Richard Sheehy Jr.; sisters, Debra (Mark) Guilbault, Cheryl (Bruce) Tyler, Carolyn (Derry) Hichue; sister-in-law, Karen Guerne Prickett; brother-in-law, Ricke (Jodi) Guerne; special cousins, Sue and Greg Hendricks; three aunts, many wonderful nieces and nephews, and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law; and two brothers, Dale and Roger. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Friday, May 25, 2018 at St. Mark Lutheran Church (4475 Henry Street, Norton Shores) with Rev. Mark Gilson officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to his service at church. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Manistee, Michigan. MEMORIALS in David’s memory may be directed to St. Mark Lutheran Church, Harbor Hospice Volunteer Program, or Northside Lions Outreach Projects.
