David B. Smith's Obituary
Mr. David Brian Smith, age 60, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 1, 1959 to Gerald and Joan (Cook) Smith in Muskegon. Dave worked at GE as a manufacturing engineer for the last 20 years and as an industrial engineer the previous 20 years at Howmet. He was a dedicated supporter of his daughters playing soccer growing up, and he spearheaded the Porter/Smitty-Vanderplow Soccer Field transformation to give back to his community. Dave is survived by his daughters, Ashley Smith, Rhonda (Jordan) Sullivan and Julia Smith; grandson, Conner Sullivan; father, Gerald Smith; and sister, Sharon (Walter) Boczkaja. A Memorial Service for Dave will be held on Thursday, August 29 at 2PM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444.
