We were lucky enough to reconnect with Dave after bumping into him at Stanz in Grand Haven. It was there that we first met Lori- clearly the love of his life!!! We were SO happy for them that they found each other.
Dave had this gift of making us feel like we were special - he made room in his life and heart for us. We miss him ……and selfishly, all the good times that we’re yet to come. The laughter was so much fun!!!

Dave and I started in the financial services business together back in the mid-80s. We managed to keep in touch all through geographic and career moves. Dave had a great sense of humor, gushed about Lori, and savored life. A true friend indeed. I will miss him!
Dave Stocking was a kind and generous man. His laugh was infectious and his positivity was contagious. We had many enjoyable hours collaborating on projects but our greatest joy together was always sharing a great meal of sushi. My deepest sympathies to Lori and all who knew and loved Dave. My life was better for having him as a friend and I will miss him dearly.
Oh David, Such great memories of endless summers at the Boat Club with our folks, celebrating birthdays, traveling to ports of call, and flicking CheezWhiz off the lifeguard towers for the seagulls to catch. Such a lovely, caring person. You've left the world a kinder place.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dave at several Ottawa County Bar Association events that Lori attended. We always had great conversations. I'm sorry to hear the news of his passing and know that many are thinking of the family at this time. May the memories with him and all the wonderful things he did through Rotary for our community be a comfort at this time.

Dave fondly retold the story of how he met Lori. Lori and I went out on the town in Muskegon. Our first stop was to Dockers for dinner. I had noticed these two guys kept looking at us. Our appetizer had just arrived and it was huge!! They were leaving and I asked them if they would like to sit down and help us eat it. That was all it took...and we shared the evening stopping at My Bar for music and another one that was on Sherman - popular for their bands. We finished the night on my deck talking and laughing. That night started a wonderful loving relattionship. He fondly declared if Gina did not ask us, he was too shy to say anything... He was a very caring man and had a heart of gold. I will miss our occasional dinners, us 3. He will be fondly missed... 💓
