David Ivan Strohm's Obituary
David Ivan Strohm, loving husband, father and son went to be with his Lord on Saturday, October 19, 2013, at Spectrum Butterworth in Grand Rapids, MI. A life resident of Muskegon, he was born July 19, 1952 to Herbert and Lois (Carlson) Strohm. Dave retired in 2007, as Director of Management Information Systems for Kaydon Corporation, where he had been employed 31 years. He was a member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church where he formerly served as a Deacon and was a member of one of their small groups. He enjoyed caring for his yard, puzzles, boating, the Detroit Pistons and being with his family, especially their many trips to Walt Disney World. On May 19, 1978 he married the former Debra Sue Zuidema and she survives him along with 2 daughters, Jamie (Nicholas) Bennett of Fairfax, VA and Holly Strohm of Hilton Head Island, SC; 1 granddaughter, Ashlynn Bennett; and by his mother, Lois Strohm of Muskegon. Dave was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Jodi Leigh Strohm and by his father, Herbert. The FUNERAL SERVICE for Dave will be 11 AM Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Calvin Christian Reformed Church with Pastor John Rop officiating. Burial will be in Mona View Cemetery. VISITATION WITH Dave’s family will be 6-8:00 PM today (Tuesday) at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc, 6291 S. Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49441(231-798-1100).
