David W. Zimmerman's Obituary
Mr. David W. Zimmerman, age 76, of Spring Lake, Michigan, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024. He was born September 3, 1948, in Gladwin, to Dr. B.F. and Lana (Keyes) Zimmerman, where he resided through high school.
On September 25, 1976, he married Terri Lynn Beets in Saginaw, where they resided until 1992. The remaining years were spent in Spring Lake, Michigan.
David retired from the Coopersville plant of General Motors in 2000. He always enjoyed working on cars as a hobby, so became a certified mechanic for the fun of it. He also loved restoring his 1957 Century Resorter. His zest for life and adventure involved golf, travel, and meeting new friends wherever he went.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Terri; brother, Howard (Carol) Zimmerman; brothers-in-law, Robert E. (Janice) Beets and Douglas Beets. He is also survived by a niece, nephew, and dear friend, all of whom he would claim as his own children in a heartbeat; niece, Kelly (Shelby) Meyer; nephew, Broc (Lindsay) Beets; and William Snyder. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roger Zimmerman; two nephews, Doug and Brian Zimmerman.
Terri would like to thank their Corewell Hospice care team, Danelle, Emily, Jami, and Wendi, for all of their love and support over the past four months.
A private family graveside service will take place at Spring Lake Township Cemetery, with a Celebration of Life to follow later in October.
