David C. Sheler's Obituary
Mr. David C. Sheler, age 71, passed away Monday, November 1, 2004 at a local hospital. He was born March 30, 1933 in St. Clair Shores, MI to Daniel and Nettie (Stawicki) Sheler and lived most of his life in the Muskegon area. On August 25, 1956, he married the former Frances A. Whitaker in Grand Rapids. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Dave was employed as an engineer for over 15 years with Howmet Corp. He was also a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. SURVIVORS include his wife, Frances “Fran” Sheler; 1 son, Paul (Terri) Sheler of Muskegon; 2 grandchildren, Mary and Ben Sheler; 4 brothers, Dan (Jean) Sheler of Grand Rapids, Dale (Dorothy) Sheler of Allendale, Daryl (Pearl) Sheler of Milan, Dick (Nancy) Sheler of Alaska, MI; and his special friends, brother-in-law, Lon Whitaker and Andy Hegedus. He was preceded in death by his parents. A MEMORIAL MASS will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, November 4, 2004 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Robert A. Hart presiding. Family and friends may greet Dave’s family one hour prior to the Mass, 10-11 AM Thursday at church. MEMORIAL DONATIONS may be given to the Haiti Outreach Ministry of Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
