David G. Ackershock's Obituary
Mr. David G. Ackershock, age 81, passed away Tuesday afternoon, May 19, 2009 at his home. He was born March 10, 1928 to Paul and Audrey (Woodard) Akershoek in Muskegon, and was a life resident. He was a veteran of the Merchant Marine and the U.S. Army during WWII, and worked at Sealed Power for 36 years until his retirement in 1987. He was also a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, where he served as an usher. On October 15, 1949 David married Doris H. Brunner in Muskegon. SURVIVORS include his wife of 60 years Doris; 1 brother, Joseph (Cora) Akershoek; 1 sister-in-law, Donetta (Paul) Jager; numerous nieces; special friends, the Cooper and Beachum families. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda; brothers, Lawrence, Thomas, and Kyren; and his father and mother. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 26, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Phillip A. Sliwinski presiding. There will be no visitation. Burial will take place at Laketon Township Cemetery.
