David H. Kleyn's Obituary
Mr. David H. Kleyn, age 58, passed away Monday, December 29, 2008 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on March 16, 1950 to Donald and Maxine “Deede” (Aderhold) Kleyn. David is survived by his wife of 37 years, Debra; son, Jeff and his children Luke, Blake, and Kennedy; son, Chris and wife, Kristi and their daughter, Taylor; mother, Maxine “Deede” Kleyn; sister, Linda Kleyn of Chicago; brother, Brian and Barb Kleyn and their children, Ashley and Stephen; and many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Kleyn. David graduated from Muskegon High School in 1969, where he was involved in their band. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. having served his country from 1971-1973. David very much enjoyed being outdoors either working in his yard, or being by the water anywhere. His grandchildren were his top priority, as they all enjoyed grandpa’s boat in the summer. He worked at Knoll Shaw-Walker for over 30 years in a position he enjoyed, along with many employees. MEMORIAL SERVICES will be 1 PM Friday, January 2, 2009 at Kainay Church (3387 Heights Ravenna Rd.) with Pastor Chip Hackney officiating. VISITATION with David’s family will be Thursday, New Year’s Day, from 3-6PM at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Harbor Hospice or the David Kleyn CPC Research Fund that helps in the search for a cure for pancreatic cancer will be appreciated.
