David J. Kingshott's Obituary
Mr. David J. Kingshott, age 80, passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning, August 25, 2011. He was born July 7, 1931 in Muskegon to Leslie and Elsie (Johnson) Kingshott. Mr. Kingshott was a 31 year career U.S. Navy Veteran CWO4, serving in the Korean War with the SeaBee’s, and retiring on August 1, 1982. He was also a member of the Army Navy Club of Grand Rapids. For 22 years he worked for Mich Con, retiring in 1990. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, the American Business Club, the Muskegon Pistol and Rifle Club, and had been past Commodore at the Muskegon Yacht Club. On June 18, 1983 he married the former Jean E. Hall in Muskegon and she survives him along with 4 children, Thomas D. (Mary Jo) Kingshott of Grand Rapids, Barbara A. Coppock of New Orleans, LA, Joe V. Hall, Jr. of Running Springs, CA, Julie A. Champayne of Norton Shores; 8 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, DeOwn and Dale Kingshott. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Monday at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 with Rev. Mark E. Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be in Norton Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be from 2-5 PM Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
