David Richard Winicki, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. David Richard Winicki, Sr., age 70, passed away Friday, November 25, 2011 at Mercy VNS Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 17, 1941 in Muskegon to Martin and Catherine (Mondala) Winicki and lived in the area his entire life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked at E.H. Sheldon Co. for 17 years before he established Winicki Adult Foster Care which he owned and operated the past 25 years. On April 18, 1964, he married the former Virginia A. Markowksi in Muskegon and she survives him. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. He was a devoted husband and especially loved his children and grandchildren. SURVIVORS include his wife, Virginia; 3 children, David R. (Shelley K.) Winicki, Jr., Shelley A. Winicki, Dennis (Renae) Winicki; 4 grandchildren, Kyle, Blake, Bradley, and Emily Winicki; 4 brothers, Edward (JoAnn) Winicki, Robert (MaryAnn) Winicki, Kenneth Winicki, Jerry (Sue) Winicki; and 2 sisters, Connie Thomas and Carol (Joe) Firlit. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Thaddeus Winicki and Bernard Winicki; and 4 sisters, Virginia Chiambretti, Evelyn Taylor, Margie Dennis, and Delores Winicki. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Thomas J. Brown as celebrant. INTERMENT will follow at Lakeside Cemetery with military honors offered by the Muskegon County Council of Veterans. VISITATION will be 5-8 PM Tuesday at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565. The Rosary will be prayed at 5:15 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held 12-1 PM Wednesday at the church.
