David Walter "Walt" McPherson's Obituary
Mr. David Walter McPherson, age 78, passed away Saturday, August 23, at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence. He was born June 5, 1930 in Indianapolis, IN, to Chester W. and Marion (Idle MacPherson. After graduating high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served as a medic for 4 years during the Korean War. On arrival in Muskegon, he worked briefly for the Norge Corporation. He then worked for General Telephone Company for 30 years as a lineman prior to his retirement in 1988. He ws a voracious reader and a Civil War buff. He was also a former member of the Muskegon Yacht Club; enjoying sailing, fishing, camping and listening to classical music. He is survived by his 2 sisters, Laurel M. (Russell) Hendrick of Grand Haven, and Marilyn (James) Reeser of Freeport, FL; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents nd his brother, John Robert MacPherson. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no services.
