Heaven gained an angel with the passing of Dawn E. Durkee on June 3, 2020. Dawn passed peacefully surrounded by her family after having fought a hard battle with cancer. Born June 17, 1958, Dawn was the firstborn daughter to Murra Read Obituary
I am sorry of just learning of the loss of Dawn! Dawn, Denise and Renee lived across the street from me. I have many memories of Dawn, we both swam on the swim team while attending Fruitport. Later Dawn and myself both taught swimming lessons at the pool in Fruitport so we spent a great deal of time together. I will always remember as having a quick smile and a fun loving person. I had lost track of Dawn, but I am still sadden to learn of her passing.

When Dawn and her two sisters were little, they would come out from Kalamazoo to their Maternal Grandparents farm in Mattawan They would run and hide when it was time to go home. This was such fun when we had to get them in snowsuits and they were kicking and yelling."no, we want to stay". With Dawn being the oldest she was the ring leader.
There was another time when Dawn climbed into Denise crib and cut off all of her hair just before 2nd birthday. How she managed her mothers sewing shears, and never cut her self and most importantly, Denise.
