Dayne A. Avery's Obituary
Dayne Arden Avery, age 75, passed away in Muskegon, MI, on Friday, January 2, 2026. Dayne was born in Ravenna on April 23, 1950, to Kenton and Velma (Newell) Avery. He graduated from Ravenna High School and went on to work as an electrical journeyman for many years. On June 12th, 1976, he married the former Patricia Carey, and the two of them spent 49 wonderful years building their family together.
Dayne was a jovial and musical man who enjoyed playing the guitar, listening to music, and having a beer with friends and family. You could often find him camping with his family either in a tent or later in one of the camping vehicles he owned. Later in life he became a stoic individual who mostly kept to himself and enjoyed spending time at home with his wife and dogs. He was an avid reader, especially of novels within the horror/thriller genres. He was quite handy and enjoyed taking care of his house and yard over the years, and he was a great caretaker for his wife in recent years.
Dayne will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Patricia Avery; two children: Amanda (Michael) Ewer and David Avery; two grandchildren: Daniel Ewer and Tyler Avery; and his niece Christine Bittinger, and other extended relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and all his siblings.
No public services are being held at this time, but details regarding a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI, 49444.
