Deanna and I were in the same seminar class this last fall that went along with our student teaching. With there only being 5 of us in the class, it provided a small setting and aided us in becoming closer to one another and hearing about each others lives. Deanna was always so passionate about teaching and wanting what was best for the students. She was extremely creative when it came to her lessons as well. I remember she made a unit plan about the different types of rocks and associated them with different types of rock music, it was so clever and original I just knew she was doing exactly what she was supposed to do in life; teach.

Deanna, you were kind, generous and genuine. You never had to put a front up and that's what I liked about you most. You were just you.

I am so very sorry. You don't know me, but Deanna was a student teacher in my son's math class last fall, and she tutored him through pre-calculus all winter. She was so patient with him, and so good at explaining things in ways he understood. What a terrible loss, for you and for so many others whose lives she touched. She will be missed. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.

We always enjoyed hearing Deanna play for our worship time at Comstock Church of Christ while she attended our church. Her passion for Christ was evident by how she shared her love of music with so many. We know she'll be missed by all. Words seem so inadequate to bring comfort in the midst of such a deep loss. Deanna was so warm and loving. She showed the love of Christ in such profound ways. I looked forward to seeing Deanna each Sunday, now I look forward to seeing her when we are all together again. Until we meet again Deanna, you will be incredibly missed.

I had the privilege of playing on the Comstock Church of Christ Worship Team with her. She was always willing and ready to play her heart out. I loved her servant's heart!
