Debbie Reckley's Obituary
Debbie Reckley 76 of Norton Shores passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 12, 2009, in Waukegan, IL, surrounded by loving family.
Debbie was born in Maryland but lived most of her life in Norton Shores. Debbie worked for Bennett Pump, the Mona Shores School District, and Ladd’s. In the over 50 years she resided in Norton Shores she met and made countless friends. She has remained close to many of the friends she made in her early years in Michigan. Debbie was a devoted friend, always there to lend an ear or a shoulder to cry on. She touched so many with her kindness. Debbie was just as devoted to her loving family. She was an amazing mother to two blessed daughters. She unconditionally loved her five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; the true joy in her life. Debbie adored her younger sister and looked forward to their conversations.
Survived by daughter, Karla Cleveland of Hastings, MN, grandsons, Jeremy (Staci) Hawkins of Coopersville, MI, and SR Alexander Cleveland of Naval Station Great Lakes; granddaughters, Jodi (James) Smith of Twin Lake, MI, Kelsey (Ryan) Hawkins of Spring Lake, MI, Kendra Hawkins of Muskegon, MI; great-grandchildren Julia and Jessica Smith, and Jayden Hawkins; former husband Bill Reckley of Norton Shores, MI, sister, Sharon Koscinski of Ellicott City, MD, numerous nieces and nephews, and her cherished furry companions Xander, Lillian, and Toby. Preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Thelma Growden, daughter Karon Hawkins, great-granddaughters Emily and Alissa Smith, and beloved pets Mopsey, Daisy, Prizzi and Zoe. A gathering in Debbie’s honor will be held Friday, September 25, 2009, at 3pm at her home, 5130 Hillview Drive.
