Deborah "Debbie" Deuster's Obituary
Deborah “Debbie” Jo Deuster, age 67, passed away peacefully in the presence of her daughters on June 7, 2022 after a long and courageous battle with cancer and other related illnesses. Though her health journey was long and complex, it did not define her. Debbie was born on May 14, 1955 to the late John and Josephine (Kochanski) Deuster in Muskegon, MI. A lifelong resident of Muskegon, Debbie graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central High School in 1973. She retired from a career at Verizon (GTE) in 2011. Debbie was a member of the Fruitport Eagles and Auxiliary and was recognized as a “Sister of the Year” for her volunteer work. She was a fiercely loving and devoted mother and grandmother (Baba). Debbie enjoyed spending time with family, friends, camping, and having early morning campfires with her dog, Bella. Debbie will be deeply missed by her children, Jill (Rob) Newton and Kristie (Nick) Boers; her beloved grandchildren, Morgan, Hensley, and Mylah; her siblings, Leo Deuster and Cathy (Warren) Feyt; sister-in-law, Carol Deuster; and several nieces and nephews. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tom Deuster, and sister-in-law, Kay Deuster. Visitation will be Sunday, June 12, from 2-5 PM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. A service to remember and celebrate Debbie’s life will be Monday, June 13, at 11:00 AM, also at the funeral home. Following the service, a Celebratory Luncheon will take place at 12:30 at the Fruitport Eagles. Contributions in her memory may be made to The Harbor Hospice Foundation or The NOAH Project. Debbie was a ray of light to all those who knew her and lived her life to the very fullest.
