Mrs. Deborah Kay Strandberg's Obituary
Mrs. Deborah Kay Strandberg, age 66, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017 at her home surrounded by family. Debbie was born May 4, 1951 in Battle Creek, MI to Wilford and Betty (Kaan) Sackitt. On November 10, 1972, she married Steven Strandberg in Muskegon, and he survives her. Debbie had worked as an examiner in several area title offices throughout her career. She was a soldier in the Salvation Army for many years and was part of the Songsters music ministry group. She had a real heart for children’s ministry and enjoyed her time spent with arts and crafts. In addition to Steven, her husband of 44 years, Debbie is survived by her brother, Steven (Shelia) Sackitt of Muskegon; sister, Carol (James) Raskiewicz of Fruitport; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Troy Allen and her parents. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 3 PM Saturday, June 3, 2017 at The Salvation Army, 1221 Shonat St., with Major Daniel Sawka officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service (2-3 PM). Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to the Harbor Hospice Foundation.
