Debra J. DuBois' Obituary
Debra J. DuBois, age 73, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, at home. She was born on February 9, 1951, to Maynard and Caroline (Montney) Hilliard in Muskegon, MI where she has been a lifelong resident. She graduated from Orchard View High School class of 1969. Debbie was a dedicated employee of Paulpers restaurant in West Olive, MI where she worked for 20 plus years whipping up delicious meals. On April 2, 1977, she married the love of her life, Jeffery DuBois in Grand Haven, MI. Together they cherished 33 years full of love until he preceded her in death on May 8, 2010. She was an active member of the women’s auxiliary Fruitport Eagles #3666 and volunteered her time at the senior center. Debbie was an avid bowler and fisher. She was a gifted artist creating beautiful paintings, color pencil pieces and drawings she gifted to her family. Debbie was known to be a Wii bowling extraordinaire, card shark and known as the “Ace Queen.” Her world revolved around her family, cherishing every moment spent with them. Whether she was fishing, playing cards with her family or Wii bowling with her sisters, she always filled the room with laughter. Debbie was known for her thoughtful and kind nature that she shared with anyone who crossed her path. She had a heart of gold and was loved by everyone. Her vivacious and tender-loving spirit will be missed by the many who knew and loved her. She is survived by her four siblings, Steven (Cookie) Hilliard, Linda (Tony) Morton, Daniel (Vicki) Hilliard and Wendy (Steve) Thompson; sister-in-law, Bonnie Hilliard; numerous nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and nephews; and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Jeffery DuBois; and brother, Larry Hilliard. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2-5:00 PM on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the Fruitport Eagles #3666, 3354 S. Dangl Rd., Muskegon, MI 49444. Memorial Contributions in Debra’s honor can be given to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
