Mr. Delbert K. Sells' Obituary
Mr. Delbert K. Sells, 85, passed away July 14, 2021, in Lowell, MI. He was born September 19, 1935 to Kay and Dorothy (Fleetwood) Sells in Beulah, MI and moved to Muskegon at age 7. He had owned Peter’s Autopia car dealership for many years and was retired from Buehrle Engineering. Del married Patricia Deuling on May 4, 1957, and she preceded him in death on December 16, 2017. They had been married for 60 years. Del enjoyed watching IndyCar and NASCAR races and had season tickets to the Indy 500 for years. Del and Pat enjoyed camping with their family, and during their retirement years, they spent their winters travelling the country in their motorhome. In his later years, Del developed a fondness for chocolate frosties and often had a stash of 8 large frosties in the freezer. He enjoyed playing Keno at Schultz Haus and later enjoyed many outings with his children and grandchildren for a round of Keno. Del was a lifetime member of the F.O.E. Survivors include 3 children: Sandra (Charles) Justian, Michael (Deborah) Sells, Lynn (David) Klemp; 4 grandchildren: Angelyn Justian, Andrea (Kyle) Hobbins, Miranda Klemp, Gabriela Klemp; 3 great-grandchildren: Zaria, Lennox, and Nash Hobbins; 1 sister: Ruth Eacker. He was also preceded in death by parents Kay and Dorothy Sells; grandson, John Messina; sisters, Gladys Sells and Ellen Pratt; and brothers, Glen Sells, Lloyd Sells, and Donald Sells. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 11, 2021 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the memorial service and during the luncheon following the service. Entombment has taken place at St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum.
