Delight S. Oakley's Obituary
Delight Sue Oakley, age 69, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017 in Muskegon. Delight was born in Adrian, Michigan on June 25, 1947 to David and Vennie (Gwyn) Johnson. She was an active member of Laketon Bethel Reformed Church. Delight was an avid gardener. She enjoyed politics, traveling, reading and Bible study, but foremost was always her family. SURVIVORS include her children, Myra Dutton, Tonya Dutton, Thomas (Shelli) Dutton II, Mia Dutton and Nicki (Joe) Walker; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Lincoln “Bruce” Johnson and Patrick (Diane) Johnson; 3 sisters, Deloris (Dennis) Watson, Rita Johnson and Carol Nicholson. She is also survived by her pet and companion, Layla Bear, as well as several nieces and nephews. Delight was preceded in death by her daughter, Cinnamon Hanson; and her sister, Violet Irish. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 11AM on Monday, April 24, 2017 at Laketon Bethel Reformed Church with Rev. Dr. Sherwin Brantsen officiating. VISITATION will be held Sunday from 2-4PM at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100. Burial will take place in Laketon Township Cemetery.
