Della G. Gzym's Obituary
Mrs. Della G. Gzym, age 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 11, 2019 in Trenton, MI. She was born on September 6, 1937 to Peter and Beuna (Brown) Ruba in Scottville, MI. On January 7, 1956, Della married George M. Gzym in Ludington and he preceded her in death on July 19, 2016. Della worked at Great Lakes Plating for 20 years before retiring in 1989. George and Della were members of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending her time gardening and would knit slippers for Helping Hands for RVSP. Della is survived by her daughter, Darlene Rainbolt; one granddaughter April (Kenny) Evans; three great-grandchildren, Braedyn, Ryleigh and Athena; brother, Dale (Patricia) Ruba; sisters, Joyce Hissong, Jean (Michael) Thorne, Beverly (Frank) Meinders and Barbara Ruba; sisters-in-law, Cindy Ruba and Rose Ruba; and special foreign exchange student, Fred Berling of Sweden. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Roland Ruba and Raymond Ruba; and brother-in-law, Curtis Hissong. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church (3252 Apple Ave., 49442) on Thursday, May 16 at 11AM. Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, May 15 from 6-8 PM at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 E. Apple Ave., 49442, 231-726-5210, and one hour prior to the service from 10-11AM at church.
