Mrs. Delores "Dee" Chorny's Obituary
Mrs. Delores E. “Dee” Chorny, 87, passed away June 17, 2021, in Muskegon. She was born January 5, 1934, to Claude P. and Lydia C. (Madison) Woodring in Hesperia and lived most of her life in the Muskegon area. Dee was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and had worked in the kitchen at Mona Shores Middle School for several years. She loved being with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. She also enjoyed traveling, reading, and going to lunch once a month with her group of women friends. On September 24, 1955, Dee married George W. Chorny, and he preceded her in death 2003. Survivors include seven children: Randy (Deb) Chorny, Mike (Nan) Chorny, Diane (Gary) Hedrick, Dale (Lisa) Chorny, Jeff (Deanna) Chorny, Monica (John) Boes, Rhonda (Mike) Walker; daughter-in-law: Becky Chorny; 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren (and two on the way); many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Dee was also preceded in death by her son Tim, parents, 7 brothers and 2 sisters. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 24, at 11:00 AM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Chorny may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl, Memphis, TN 38105-9959, or St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441.
