Delores "Dee" C. Bowne 's Obituary
Delores “Dee” C. Bowne, age 90, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020. Dee was born on March 18, 1929 to Lewis and Leona Roberts in St. Louis, MO. She graduated from St. Jean’s High School where she met her high school sweetheart, Richard “Dick” Bowne. They were married on May 30, 1950 and together God blessed them with nine children. Dee was a volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters over the years but was truly a devoted mother to her family. She was an excellent cook, loved playing card games and golfing. Dick and Dee enjoyed many trips with friends and in their later years spent 20 years wintering in Florida. She is survived by her nine children, Jeffrey (Jeannie) Bowne, Rachelle (David) Geissinger, Denise Kipfmiller, Mitchell (Deborah) Bowne, Steven Bowne, Laurel (Mark) Fleser, Julie (Paul) Christian, Mary (Randall) Erickson, Claudia (Jeffrey) Bourdon; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; many special nieces and nephews; special extended family members, Cheryl Rogers, and Harvey and Mary Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dick Bowne; sister, Lenora Taghon; daughter-in-law, Connie Bowne; and son-in-law, Dave Kipfmiller. A ROSARY SERVICE is to be prayed at 4:30 PM at The Lee Chapel of the Systema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444 on Thursday, February 20, 2020; following the rosary, VISITATION will take place from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. A MEMORIAL MASS will take place at St. Mary’s Spring Lake (406 E. Savidge St.) at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 21, 2020 with Rev. Fr. David Gross presiding. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dee’s name can be made to the Harbor Hospice Foundation.
