Delores "Dee" May Peters' Obituary
Delores “Dee” May Peters, age 90, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence. She was born on September 17, 1930 to Lawrence and Mary Jane (Farkas) Radke in Muskegon. Dee graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in 1948. On May 1, 1954 she married the love of her life, John D. Peters, and together they spent 66 happy years together. Dee was a woman of great faith and an active member at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. She was always one to think about the needs of others. Dee was known for her beautiful calligraphy handwriting and skillful cake baking for her children and grandchildren. The most important thing in her life was her loving family; Dee would cherish every moment she could with her adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, John D. Peters; children, Mary (Greg) Loomis, Randy (Sue) Peters, Amy (Pat) Chandonnet; grandchildren, Lisa (Aaron) Potts, Ross (Rebecca) Loomis, Abby (Tom) Holcomb, Ben Peters, Stephon Chandonnet (Alyssa Braun), Molly (Michael) Olmsted; great-grandchildren, Ella and Evia Potts; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Larry Radke and Fritz Wierda; and lifelong friend, Milly Robinson. A LIMITED OCCUPANCY VISITATION with Dee’s family will take place on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at The Lee Chapel of The Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444. A private family service will take place. Burial will take place in Laketon Township Cemetery. For a more lasting memory, donations in Dee’s name can be made to either St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Harbor Hospice Foundation.
