Delores M. Dekker's Obituary
Mrs. Delores M. “Dee” Dekker, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at her home. She was born on June 28, 1934 to Wilfred and Helen (St. Amour) Smith in Muskegon. A lifelong resident of the area, she married Gerald Dekker on February 11, 1956 and he survives her. Dee worked at Teledyne Continental Motors as a bookkeeper until her retirement in 1992. She served as Treasurer for UAW Local 1279 for a number of years. Most importantly, Dee cherished the time spent with her family and took any chance she could to spoil her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dee will be missed by her husband of 64 years, Jerry; children, Donald (Debra) Dekker, Daniel (Shari) Dekker and Debbie (Mark) Pipoly; grandchildren, Antonia (Adam) Cutler, Joshua (Kim) Dekker, Adam (Kathryn) Dekker, Andrea Dekker, Jessica Dekker (fiancé Ryan Fowler), Ashlee (Alex) Mishler and Nikole Pipoly; great-grandchildren, AJ, Madison, Gabriel, Sophia, Nicholas, Elizabeth, Caleb and Devin; sister, Mary Uildriks; sister-in-law, Joyce Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Adelaide; siblings, Gertrude Prell and Edward Smith; and parents. A Memorial Service will be held 11AM Friday, February 14 at Laketon Bethel Reformed Church (1568 Giles Rd., 49445) with Dr. Sherwin Brantsen officiating. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10-11AM. Arrangements by The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E.
