Mrs. Dena Malda's Obituary
Mrs. Dena Malda, age 99, went to be with her Lord on Friday, February 21, 2020. She was born August 14, 1920 to Henry and Dirkje (VanDelzen) VanAndel in Muskegon, and was a lifelong resident. Dena had been a longtime member of the former First Christian Reformed Church, and was currently a member of Grace Christian Reformed Church. On December 5, 1947 she married John N. Malda, and he preceded her in death on September 14, 2010, as did her son John William Malda on January 21, 2007. Survivors include 1 daughter: Joan M. (Michael J.) Stob, a daughter-in-law: Karen Malda; 7 grandchildren: Rebecca Stob, Joel Stob, Jacob (Traci) Malda, Jonathon (Mallory) Malda, Joshua (Pam) Malda, Jason Malda, Jared (Lindsey) Malda; 11 great-grandchildren; in-laws: Phyllis VanAndel, Betty Hewitt, and Ben Malda; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a sister: Margaret Rop; and brothers: Nicholas VanAndel, Henry VanAndel, and James VanAndel; and several brothers- and sisters-in-law. The funeral service for Dena will be Tuesday, February 25, at 11:00 AM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. Visitation will be Monday, February 24, from 5-8 PM, also at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Restlawn Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Malda may be made to Muskegon Christian School or Western Michigan Christian High School/Middle School.
