Denise "Dee" Olsen's Obituary
Mrs. Denise “Dee” Olsen, age 59, of North Muskegon passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015 at the Poppen Residence. She was born August 19, 1956 in Muskegon to John and Beverly (Mayette) Backensto.
Denise had worked for Christian Care for over 15 years. She loved to read, go bowling and was a former member of the Moose Lodge. She was a care giver at heart and was very much loved by all who knew her.
On March 7, 1975 she married Carl J. Olsen, Jr. and he survives her along with four children: Carl J. Olsen, III., Christopher J. Olsen, Sara A. (Nicholas) Strait, and Amanda M. (Timothy) Moser all of the Muskegon area; ten grandchildren: Dylan and Hayley Olsen, Evan Olsen, Jacob, Zachary, and Andrew Leibrandt, Evey Strait, Kyle, Jackson, Amelia Moser; one great-grandson, Liam Moser. She is also survived by five siblings: Jeff (Vicki) Backensto, Rick Backensto, Kathy Wimpee, John (Mary) Backensto, and Kimberly (Lloyd) Parker; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Beverly; in-laws, Carl and Jean Olsen; brother-in-law Russell Olsen.
A memorial visitation will be 5-8 PM Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at The Lee Chapel - 6291 S. Harvey, 231-798-1100. Memorial contributions in memory of Denise may be given to Harbor Hospice – Poppen Residence. Please sign the family’s online guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com.
