Denise L. Veihl's Obituary
Denise L. Veihl, age 70, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026. She was born in Muskegon on December 23, 1955 in Muskegon to Gerald and Evelyn (Carlson) Neibarger and was a life resident of the area. Denise worked as a Dietary Cook for Sherman Oaks Care Center for over 20 years.
On May 30, 1981, she married Michael “Mike” Veihl. Together they shared 44 wonderful years of marriage before he preceded her in death on August 23, 2025.
Denise had a creative spirit and especially enjoyed crafting and painting ceramics. She loved going yard sale shopping, browsing flea markets, treating herself to having her nails done, and never missed an episode of General Hospital. Above all, however, her greatest joy was her family—especially her grandchildren, who meant more to her than anything else.
SURVIVORS include her mother, Evelyn Neibarger; three daughters, Latica Otayco, Lacinda (Terry) Hamstra, and Lanette Veihl; six grandchildren; brother, Dennis (Diane) Neibarger; sisters, Debra (Pete) Wyatt and Deena (Jarra) Neibarger. Denise was also preceded in death by her father, Gerald Neibarger.
SERVICES will be 3PM Thursday, March 12, 2026 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior the service, from 2-3PM.
