I could always count on Aunt Denise to give me a genuine compliment on my hair. I know that may sound silly, but every time I saw her she would tell me how much she liked my hair and ask me for advice about what style she should wear her hair in. I suppose it was our little female bond. I appreciated the nice words. She was quiet but it was apparent how much she loved her kids, grandkids, and her dogs. She would talk a lot about any of them. She was always easy to be around. She was welcoming and never seemed to have a bad word to say about anyone. She will be missed.
