Denise M. Genung-Parson, age 38, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 22, 2008. She was born on April 13, 1970 to Glen and Barbara (Namiotka) Genung at the Air Force Academy in Colorado. Denise was a 1988 graduate from Mason County Eastern High School and a 1993 graduate from Grand Valley State University. Denise was employed by Johnson Controls and enjoyed watching and participating in sports. SURVIVORS include 2 children, Megan Genung (age 12) and Heather Parson (age 10); boyfriend Abundio Contreras; mother, Barbara Genung; 2 sisters, Deborah (Scott) Smith and Kristin Genung (Chris Smiecinski); 1 brother, Michael (Lyetta) Genung; nephew, Andrew Smith; and niece Theresa Tyndall. Denise was preceded in death by her Father, Glen. FUNERAL SERVICE will be 1:OO PM Friday, June 27, 2008 at The Lee Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444 with Rev. Michael Genung officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 5-9 PM Thursday, June 26, 2008 at the funeral home.
