Dennis L. Ericksen's Obituary
Dennis “Denny” Lee Ericksen, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, in Muskegon, MI. Denny was born on February 4, 1941, in Muskegon to his parents Harold and Irene (Josephson) Ericksen. On October 24, 1988, he married the former Carlean Keniston, and they spent 34 wonderful years together before she preceded him in death in 2022. Denny spent most of his life working as a carpenter, but he was also a farmer and a master tinkerer who could fix anything. He loved spending time outside, especially going for a drive in his truck or riding on his tractor. He was a social person who enjoyed sitting and talking with friends, especially at Rankin’s Restaurant, Mr. Quick in North Muskegon, the Golden Inn in Mears, or Wilson’s Gas Station. He was a well-organized person and a problem solver, whether it was fixing something that wasn’t working right or helping a person find solutions to their own problems. Denny will be lovingly remembered by his two children: Lindy (Bruno) Olechnowicz and Greg (Tina) Ericksen; four stepchildren: Kathleen Meinders, Frank (Bev) Meinders, Kurt (Diane) Meinders, and Renee Wright; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; five siblings: Larry (Kathy) Ericksen, Leroy Erickson, Doug (Louise) Ericksen, Pam Ericksen, and Connie Engweiler; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carlean Ericksen; parents, Harold and Irene Ericksen; daughter, Sheryl Ericksen; brother, Norm Ericksen; and sister, Lois Betka. Details regarding a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to The Harbor Hospice Foundation. Arrangements by The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI, 49444.
