Dennis Paul Rader Sr.'s Obituary
Dennis Paul Rader Sr., age 70, passed away Monday, February 27, 2023. He was born December 29, 1952 in Cadillac, MI and was raised by his mother, the former Jeanette Dow and step-father, Bernard Fitzhugh. He graduated from Muskegon High School in 1971 and worked for the State of Michigan Department of Corrections as a corrections officer for 30 years prior to his retirement in 2008. On November 24, 1973, he married the love of his life, Bonnie L. Budnik, in Muskegon. He enjoyed working on cars, fishing, and helping others. He also loved his snacks and sweets. Dennis will be missed by many. SURVIVORS include his wife, Bonnie; two sons: Dennis Paul Rader Jr. of Muskegon and Michael (Doreen) Rader of Muskegon; five grandchildren: Madison, Haydyn, Hunter, Kayla, and Trey Rader; brother, Jeffrey Fitzhugh of Muskegon; two sisters: Louise Geno of Muskegon and Sharon (Richard) Fitzhugh-Monje of Fruitport; nephews: Derek, Dylan, Tyler, Scott, and Ricky; and nieces: Nathalie, Kimberly, and Sherry. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Randy Fitzhugh. According to Dennis’ wishes, there will be no services. MEMORIALS to the American Cancer Society will be appreciated.
