Mr. Dennis L. Snider's Obituary
Mr. Dennis L. Snider, 74, passed away Wednesday morning, October 11, 2017, in Byron Center. He was born February 8, 1943 in Lansing, MI. Dennis grew up on a farm in Gowen and as a young man moved to Grand Rapids to work for NCR, where he met his beautiful wife, Sandra L. Weckwert, who he wed in February of 1964. She preceded him in death on March 25, 2007. Together, with his family, they built a home, family and golf course in Fruitport in 1965. Through the years his strong work ethic never waned and he spent as much time as he could on his John Deere tractors. His love of cars spurred many impromptu trips and you would never know when he would show up on your doorstep or what country he would be calling you from. Dennis loved taking care of others and was very active in the Hackley Hospital Cancer Support Group. Survivors include 2 children, Edward (Carin) Snider of Grand Haven, Heather (Justin) Arnold of Ada; 2 grandchildren, Sarah and Logan Snider; brother, David (Margaret "Robbie"); and special Jacobson family members, Barry, Randi and Amy. Dennis was also preceded in death by his father and mother. The funeral service will be Saturday, October 14, at 1:00 PM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100, with Pastor Robert Linstrom officiating. Burial will take place at Lake Forest Cemetery in Grand Haven.
