Dennis C. Stapel's Obituary
Dennis C. Stapel of Muskegon, Michigan passed away suddenly at home on April 16, 2024, at the age of 72. He was born on June 16, 1951, in Muskegon to Carl and Jean (Jenson) Stapel. Dennis, who was also affectionately known as “Grandpa Bozo”, was a member of the American Legion and Eagles where he was always welcome. Dennis was known for his green thumb and enjoyed rock collecting, camping, cooking, holidays, and kept a tradition to always make Christmas breakfast for the whole family. On April 10, six days before he passed, Dennis caught the fish of a lifetime (10 pounder!) while fly fishing on the Muskegon River with his good friend Patrick Miszewski and he enjoyed sharing his experience. Dennis is survived by his wife, Jacquelin (Ashley) Stapel; children, Jeffrey (Brenda) Stapel, Keith Stapel and Kevin (Marisa) Stapel; grandchildren, Nathan, Josh, Kira, Adam and Jeffrey and great grand-children, Taylin and Issac. He is preceded in death by his parents; Carl and Jean Stapel; brother, James Stapel and special cousin Pam VanDyke. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family. The family has planned a Celebration of Life on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at the White Lake American Legion located at, 803 E Colby St., Whitehall, MI 49461 from 1:00 pm–5:00 pm, with a service being held at 3:00 pm.
