Denny A. Kolbe's Obituary
Denny Arden Kolbe, age 77, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018. He was born April 9, 1941 in Fremont, MI to Thomas and Vivian (Rayner) Kolbe and had lived his entire life in the Muskegon area. Denny received his Bachelors of Education from Western Michigan University, and on July 29, 1961 married the former Sharon Gray in Muskegon. He worked for Lorin Industries for 40 years prior to his retirement in 2000. He was a member of Olivet Evangelical Free Church – Marquette Campus (formerly Orchard View Congregational) where he had been an Elder, Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, and choir member. Denny coached Little League baseball and basketball for Orchard View Schools and had also been active in the North Side Senior Center card club. He was also an avid outdoorsman, especially hunting and fishing. Denny was well liked by all the staff at Lake Woods Nursing Center and will be greatly missed by all. SURVIVORS include his wife, Sharon; 3 sons: Mark (Lisa) Kolbe of Muskegon, Michael (Jane) Kolbe of Rockford, Matthew (Julie) Kolbe of Muskegon; and 5 grandchildren: Kayla (Zack) Keck, Kyle, Collin, Stephen, and Lydia Kolbe. A CELEBRATION OF DENNY’S LIFE will be held 2:00 PM Friday, April 27, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100 with Pastor Craig Cramblet officiating.
