Derek J. Sagan's Obituary
Mr. Derek J. Sagan, age 25, passed away early Thursday morning, October 27, 2011 in Ann Arbor following a one and a half year courageous battle with cancer. He was born August 8, 1986 to Thomas and Cathy (Holub) Sagan in Muskegon, and was a life resident. Derek loved to be outdoors fishing, boating, cars, riding dirt bikes, and being with his friends. He worked at Discount Home Improvement, and was a student at Western Michigan University. He attended St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Derek is survived by his mother Cathy Sagan; 1 brother, Riley Ingleright and his father Rodney; special friend Emily Savidge; grandparents, John and Sandi Meadows of Melvindale, MI, Annamay Holub of Muskegon; many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and special family friends Louie Jr. and Tyler Martinez. Derek was preceded in death by his father Thomas Sagan; grandparents, Judith Meadows, Robert Holub, Mary Lou Sagan, Daniel Sagan; and aunt Cynthia Winsemius. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Monday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Philip P. Salmonowicz presiding. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 will be from 2-5 PM Sunday afternoon, and 1 hour prior to the service at church.
