Mr. Dereko LaQuan Piggee's Obituary
Mr. Dereko “Reek” Piggee, age 43, departed this life unexpectedly on Friday, September 3, 2021. Dereko was born on December 5, 1977, to Joyce Piggee and Johnnie Render Jr. in Muskegon, MI. He was a Muskegon High School graduate with the class of 1996. Dereko was a well-known all state football player and was using his talents to inspire the youth. He was a creative community barber with many clients. Dereko enjoyed driving to the beach with his wife, playing and watching sports, eating ice cream, spending quality time with his children, family and friends. He married the love of his life Glennetta Riley on October 25, 2020. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community.
Dereko leaves to cherish in memories his loving wife, Glennetta Riley-Piggee; children, Dereko Riley, Justin Riley, Cynthia Robertson, Dillion Sims and Destin Piggee all of Muskegon, MI; his parents, Joyce Piggee and John Render Jr.; brothers, Carlos (Latina) Piggee, Tawon Piggee and Johndries Render; sisters, Tameka Brantley, Syeisha Render; grandchildren, Queen Neal and Liberty Jones; godson, Chauncey Bankhead; a host of cousins, relatives, and friends. Dereko was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elnora Wyrick, Letha May Render, John Render Sr, Willie James Piggee; aunt, Eura Piggee-Jordan; uncles, Alvin Wyrick, Thomas Wyrick, and Donald Wyrick.
A VISITATION for Dereko will be held from 4PM-7PM Thursday, September 9, 2021, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey Street, Norton Shores, Michigan 49444, (231) 798-1100. A FUNERAL SERVICE for Dereko will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 10, 2021, at Church of the Living God, 4249 Quarterline Rd., Muskegon, MI 49444. BURIAL will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
