Devin Dale TenBrink's Obituary
With the deepest sadness we share the passing of our dear son, Devin Dale TenBrink, age 24, who entered into eternal peace with our Lord and Savior on October 28, 2021. Devin, our only child, was smart, strong, funny, passionate, loving, and faithful. He was truly a gift from God. His young cousins adored him and loved to play with him when they visited. He would always make time for them and they held a very special place in his heart. He was athletic and was known to be the one who successfully maneuvered the slopes on his snowboard, had a passion for working out, and awed his friends by doing back flips with ease. Devin worked with his dad doing marine construction and they enjoyed their “fishing Fridays”. When it came to his friendships, he was amazingly loyal, generous, and selfless. In his later teen years, he began his passion of exercise and nutrition throughout his short life. Recently he studied and gained certification as a personal trainer so that he could help others live a healthy lifestyle. Devin, as he would often say, was “truly blessed”. When it came to the epidemic of drug addiction however, Devin was not able to overcome the intensely evil grip of mind-altering drugs that are stealing the lives of so many that we love. He tried his best to take steps to combat this beast, but ultimately the enemy schemes, lies, and outsmarts even the most strong and intelligent people, as it did with our Devin. Drugs poison and destroy the brain and the user becomes unable to make sound decisions. We find comfort in knowing that our dear son was saved from this hell of addiction through his personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We share Devin’s tragic story so that others may learn from it and help their loved ones overcome the enemy of addiction.
Devin is survived by his loving wife, Cindy, his devoted mother, Shelley, who faithfully prayed and loved him all the days of his life and beyond, and his loyal father, Dale, who prayed and never gave up on the hope that Devin could win the Spiritual Warfare battle. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins who will deeply miss the joy and life that Devin brought to every family gathering.
