Dewaine H. Huston's Obituary
Dewaine H. “Dutch” Huston, age 85, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2014. He was born on December 10, 1928 to Henry and Josie (Carson) Huston in Doster, MI. Dutch served his country in the US Army. Prior to Dutch’s retirement in 1988 he worked as a printer for Shaw-Walker/Knoll Group. He enjoyed golfing and volunteered with Mercy VNS Hospice for many years. In 1978, he married Barbara Westfield and she preceded him in death in 2002. SURVIVORS include 2 children, Brenda (Dale) Wiley and Randell (Theresa) Huston; 6 grandchildren, Kendra (Tom) Teerman, Paul (Diana) Phillips, Tracy (Jeff) Payne, and Erik, Alyssa and Ryan Huston; 3 great-grandchildren, Jared, Kayla and Jonas; former wife and caregiver, Shirley King. Dutch was also preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Phillips; son, Curtis Huston; grandson, Bryan Wiley; great-grandson, Wyatt Payne; brothers, Lester Huston, Henry Jay Huston; sisters, Maxine “Mickey” Slenk and Betty June Frisbee. A FUNERAL SERVICE with Military Rites will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., 231-759-8565. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS can be directed to the Lions Club.
