Mr. Dewey David Miller's Obituary
Mr. Dewey D. Miller, 80, entered his Savior’s arms Friday evening, October 24, 2014. Born September 29, 1934 in Beech Grove, Arkansas, to S.M. and Venia (Watson) Miller, Dewey married the former Dorcas A. Dobben in Muskegon September 29, 1956. He had been employed at Shaw Walker Co. for 27 years before moving to Arkansas in 1981 where he operated a Service Master franchise. He and Dorcas maintained homes in Muskegon and Arkansas for many years, worshiping and being active at Oak Crest Church of God here, and at Paragould Church of God in Arkansas. Dewey was a man talented in many areas—most of them self-taught. He loved to travel and camp, spend winters in Florida, and raise Black Angus cattle on his North Muskegon farm. “Paw-Paw” also loved telling grandchildren stories of his exploits and misadventures. His SURVIVORS include his wife of 58 years, Dorcas; a son, Wayland and his wife, Robin Miller of Paragould, AR; 10 grand and eight great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Lori Taylor; a sister, Bonnie Poston of Fruitport; and brothers Louis of Paragould and Jerry Miller of Hammond, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Opal Miller, Vergie Coe, and Vera Ivie; and brothers Avery, Thomas, Calvin and Jarome Miller. VISITATION will be 5-8 P.M. Monday, October 27, 2014 at Oak Crest Church of God, 1540 Leonard St. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held there 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 28, 2014 with Pastor Rick South and Bishop Robert Rogers officiating. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS to Harbor Hospice would be appreciated.
