Diane Maria Covell's Obituary
Mrs. Diane Maria Covell, age 70, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. She was born on September 26, 1954, to Donald and Rosemary (Schrempp) Duren in Muskegon, MI where she remained a lifelong resident. Diane graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central High School class of 1972. Diane embraced life with enthusiasm, enjoying live concerts, theater, traveling, and meeting new people. She especially enjoyed the Muskegon Summer Celebration and volunteering for the Muskegon Air Show and Make-A-Wish Foundation.
A passionate professional photographer, she had an incredible ability to capture moments and the beauty of life through her lens. Diane cherished spending time with her friends and family. A strong and determined woman, Diane battled ALS since her diagnosis in 2012. Her resilience and vibrant spirit were an inspiration to those around her. Diane was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. She will always be remembered for her ability to connect with others and her unwavering willingness to do anything for her loved ones.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Covell; daughters, Lynette (Jeffrey) Hodges and Kristina (Daniel) Rudnik; grandchildren, Jorden (Angel) Hodges, Julia Hodges and Jack Rudnik; great-grandson, Ezra Hodges; sisters, Suzanne (Steven) Hibma and Lilianne Duren; brothers, Donald (Cecilia) Duren and Michael (Michele) Duren; along with loving family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Michelle Duren. Diane will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
A CELEBRATION OF HER LIFE will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at The Knights of Columbus, 2915 Fairfield St., Norton Shores, MI 49441. Arrangements by The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441.
